Division In America

In America, we have a great nation that was founded on the principals of God and His Word.  Have we always been perfect and have we always done things the way they should be done and have we never made mistakes?  Absolutely not!  We have made many mistakes and we have never had leaders who were perfect and without fault either.

We are a nation of people who are of many different colors, backgrounds and beliefs.  If we want to continue as a free nation, we need to find some common ground that we can unify on or we will cease to be a free nation.  As long as we fight against each other because of the wrong actions and hatred of a few, we will continue to degenerate as a nation.  Because of the few that hate and stir up trouble, we cannot stereotype people and divide the masses.  It is a horrible thing that slavery and segregation is a part of our history, but calling all whites racists and white supremacists is not going to fix anything.

The media and a few rich elites want nothing more than to destroy this nation by getting us to destroy ourselves by fighting against each other.  Why would they do this?  Power and control.  They cannot control and have power over a nation that has freedom.  Especially one that has been founded on a government that is of the people, by the people, for the people.

I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.  For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.  Romans 16:17-18

The only way we can unify is if we have some kind of standard to unify on.  In America, the unifying principal is the truths of God’s Word which is what this nation was founded on.  God’s Word has been taken out of education and is being fought against in every other area of our lives.  This causes people to be ignorant about what God actually has to say to us and we have begun to rely on what Hollywood elites tell us, the media elites tell us and news outlets who actually oppose the things of God tell us.  The only way to truly know what God teaches us about Himself, us and the way He created things to be is to read it for ourselves and not just take someone else’s opinion on it.

If we are all human and created by God, why is there any racism at all?  God tells us because of sin.  We are all born with a sin nature that came from the fall of man when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden.  God tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Romans 3:23.  And that “the wages of sin is death”  (Romans 6:23a), meaning a separation from God.  So, is there anything that we can do about this on our own apart from God?  No, we cannot do it in our own human strength, because it is not strength that we need, it is a heart change that we need.  God wants us to not just have the strength to do something, but have the desire to do something which will give us the strength to do it with the right motives.  Not just for a personal gain or to win a battle, but to glorify God with our actions.  The second part of Romans 6:23 says; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  God wants to change the sinful nature that we were born with into a new creation that desires His ways over the ways of the sinful nature; Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!  2 Corinthians 5:17

So how do we receive this new life in Christ?

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9

When we trust in God not just as our Savior, but as the Lord in our lives, it becomes life transforming.  We begin to be able to see things through a new lens that God gives us rather than through the lens of the sinful nature that we were born with.

God is against racism and superiority over another person when we are in Christ;

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:28.

God wants us to love all people and not just the ones that are nice to us and agree with us;

Love your neighbor as yourself  Matthew 22:39b.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you  Matthew 5:44.

He also tells us about respecting our leaders;

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.  Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.   Romans 13:1-2

If we want to save our nation from destruction from within, we need to come together and reject the division of racism.  Black, white, brown, male or female, we all need to come together to save our country from those few that would want to divide us and ultimately destroy us as a nation!  God can and will give us the ability and strength to do this if we put our trust, hope and unity in Him!

Abortion – Yea or Nay?

There is a lot of debating over whether abortion is ethical and should be legal or not.  God and science make things very clear.  With the advancements of science, we can see through the technology of ultrasound, that there is a baby inside a mothers womb.  A baby, created by God, who is inside the mother and not just another part of a women’s body.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you …  Jeremiah 1:5a

We can see that there actually is a baby inside and not just some kind of lifeless tissue.  This is the beginning of life that each and every one of us has to go through to be who we are today.  With out this part of life, none of us would be here.  We are fully an individual human being forming inside of our mother all the way up to and through the process of being born into the world.

A family member of ours delivered her baby almost 1 month early.  With our current abortion laws, if that baby had gone full term, he could have been legally and brutally aborted at the time he had actually been delivered.  Was he any less human at the time he was born as opposed to if he would have gone full term?  Would he not have felt the intense pain that abortion would have caused him just because we cant see or hear him?  Was he any less human 1 month, 2 or 3 months before?  We are created by God at conception and we are unique and individual human being.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with inherent and inalienable rights; that among these, are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness….

Pro abortionists call for women to have a choice.  We are taught and learn at a very young age that sex produces children.  When we make the choice to have sex, we are making the choice to take a chance that there is a possibility of a child being conceived.  So, we have made a choice to take the chance of that happening at that point.  Pro choice abortionists are actually calling for a second choice … the choice to lack self control and be irresponsible on the 1st choice of whether or not to have sex.   Then, to get rid of the consequences of that 1st choice, people want to abort, or since we know that what is being aborted is a human being, murder the baby that has been conceived in the mother.  God is against murder, especially the murder of the most venerable and innocent among us.

You shall not murder.  Exodus 20:13”

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Even in the case of rape or incest, which is only 1% or less of all cases of abortion (the majority are for convenience), there are many people who would love to adopt, but have a very hard time being able to do so.  Giving a child, who is a victim of this as well, a chance at life is better than killing the child.  There are several testimonies of families that this has happened to and the child from such an act has become such a blessing to their family and those around them.

Our oldest son is adopted and his birth mother was a 16 year old high school girl.  She could have taken the easier, more convenient and less awkward way out and quietly had an abortion.  Thankfully, she chose the higher road and chose life rather than death for our son.  He has grown into a fine hard working young man of 22 years of age at this point in his life.  I can not imagine life without him and cringe at the thought that his life could have been snuffed out before he even had a chance to live it.  Praise God that he is was able to become part of our family!

If someone has had an abortion, there is still hope!  God is the God of second chances.  That is why Jesus Christ came down to earth to pay for our sins and give us the hope of a new life in Him!

None of us are without sin and are not in need of what Jesus did for us on the cross.

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23

We now have a way to be forgiven and have the power to turn away from sin and toward the way God created us to live!

We are all created and loved by God.  No matter what race or nationality, He created and loves us all equally.  Unfortunately, because of sin, racism and discrimination is a part of our world.

A number of years ago, I wanted to look into changing my place of employment.  I started talking to the front desk person of  a training facility of a nationwide construction job.  The front desk person told me that I would not be able to get in.  I thought they were joking with me, so I kind of laughed and asked “why not”?  “Are you serious”, I asked her.

She began to pull out 4 large ring binders and laid them out on the desk and began to explain what they were.  “These all have names of applicants in them.  This one has names of people who are Hispanic, this one has names of people who are African American, this one Asian’s and this one for people who are White.  “We have to pick 3 out of every other book before we can pick 1 White person”, she explained and told me that is why I would never get in.

In shock of the practice, I began to think through this.  It came to my mind that my Mothers side of the family came from Spain and she had a Spanish maiden name.  The next day, I came in and asked the lady at the front desk, of the training facility, if this would help me at all.  She told me if I could get a copy of my Mother’s birth certificate, it would give me a lot better chance of getting in than if I was considered White.

Another time in my life, I had gone skiing and on the way home we got lost.  We apparently went into a neighborhood that was wrong for our skin color of being White.  It was a very strange feeling as we drove along and everyone, on the street and in cars, were staring us down.  We had a very uneasy feeling going through this area.  We decided to pull into a gas stating to look at a map or ask for directions on how to get back to going in the right direction we needed to get home.

We pulled into the station and stopped at the pumps as another car started coming in at the opposite side.  The 2 guys in the car were staring us down and continued to pull forward and ran into the front of our car while they just sat there looking at us with mean looks on their faces.  We decided to just back up, away from the car that was up against ours, and go find the right direction on our own.

Racism, discrimination and being looked at differently is definitely not a good feeling and is not of God.  Unfortunately, because of sin, racism comes from all races against people of all different colors and nationalities.  In America, our media and certain political persuasions would make you think that all and only White people are racist.  I know that I am not and none of the White people that I know are.  Not that there are not racist White people, as well as Black, Hispanic, Asian, Persian, etc. that are racist.  It is not limited to one race as many times it is portrayed.

It also seems that it is politically correct to be stirring up racism and discrimination against White people.  I believe that this practice would make Martin Luther King cringe.  Stirring up racism against Whites is not going to fix or help anything in our land.

We have got to stop letting the powers of darkness divide us and have us fight against each other.  We are not enemies of each other!  Satan, who has come to steal, kill and destroy wants to destroy us from within by thinking we are each others enemies instead of him.

In terms of systematic racism against blacks and white privilege I have had a few observations in recent times (outside of my own personal experiences).

Although there are 2 times as many White people killed by police than Blacks, our media and certain politicians never report on the white deaths.  They only report on all the deaths of Blacks by police.  Before the facts come out, the media and these politicians stir things up and say it is because Whites are racist and cops are against Blacks which causes violence, hatred and racism.  Almost every time, when the facts come out, we learn that the person shot by police was a criminal with a long rap sheet, armed and posed a real threat to police.  By this time, the damage is done, and they are on to the next story to stir up more problems.

In spite of what we hear from the media and politicians, in all areas of business, religion, politics, entertainment,  sports, etc., we see African Americans in high level positions.  This, including the highest office in our country, which is the most powerful and influential country in our world.  How would they be holding these positions if there is a systematic racism that is being imposed on them?  We can find inspirational stories of all races of people who go against the odds of their circumstances and achieve success.  Each one of us, no matter what our skin color, are usually the ones that hold ourselves back from achievement by making excuses rather than seeking God and doing the work to help us achieve what He created us for.

The only way to overcome and defeat any kind of racism is by the power of God being within us.  It is a heart issue that more race specific legislation, benefits and protections will not help and will only divide us more.  Jesus came to die on a cross to pay for our sins so that we can have a second chance to be in a right relationship with our creator.  This is the only way we can have peace in our land and with each other.  God wants to give us the strength and ability to see people through His eyes and not only through our limited human eyes.

God loves us all and created us perfectly, the way He wanted, with a perfect plan and  purpose for our lives.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.  God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.  Genesis 1:27-28.

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’’  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’  So they are no longer two, but one.  Mark 10:6-8

God is perfect and all He does is perfect.  On the other hand, humans are not perfect and we can choose wrong and feel like doing things that do not line up with God’s perfect ways.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.  Proverbs 16:25.

The way God designed us, He made it very clear whether He created us male or female.  His design for marriage and sexual relationships is to be between a husband and a wife.

God does not want us to be confused.  Satan is the one who wants to deceive and confuse us into going against God and the way He created things to be.  Satan is the father of lies and has come to steal, kill and destroy our relationship with God and our eternity, with Him, in Heaven.

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.  Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.  In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.  Romans 1:25-27

A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.  Deuteronomy 22:5

If someone is deceived and confused about the way God created them to be, it is not loving to help them to continue on a path that is in rebellion to God and His design.  It is never a good thing for us to rebel and fight against God.  Not only is it a losing situation, but it causes us to miss out on God’s best for our lives.  He is not trying to cause us to miss out on something that is good for us, He is protecting us from things that are destructive to our lives and cause separation from Him.

Also, it is not helpful to a confused person to try to get everyone else to be confused about about a false belief.  This does not actually help the person, it only helps them to “feel” better, in the moment, about being confused and being in rebellion toward God and His ways.

The answer comes through a new life in Jesus Christ who wants us to know the truth that will set us free from all deception and bondages that separate us from HIm.  We do not have to be controlled by false belief systems and deceptions.

God has a perfect plan and purpose for each of us in the way that He created us.  He loves us more than we can even comprehend and He did not make a mistake in how He created us.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

 

Liberalism, Islam & Homosexuality – Are They Compatible?

When looking at the main stream media, one would think that Liberalism, Islam and Homosexuality are very compatible.  Liberalism promotes and backs both of these belief systems.  This seemed very interesting to me, so I decided to to take a look at some things.

I began by looking up what Sharia Law says about the practice of homosexuality.  Ultimately, Islam teaches that Muslims are to take over the entire world and implement Sharia Law as the law of the land.  Sharia Law is based on the teachings found in the  religion of Islam.  Here is what Sharia Law says about sex and homosexuality:

Sharia law states that if either an unmarried man or an unmarried woman has pre-marital sex, the punishment should be 100 lashes.  Quran 24:2  http://www.usc.edu/org/cmje/religious-texts/quran/verses/024-qmt.php#024.002  There are some requirements that need to be met before this punishment can happen. For example, the punishment cannot happen unless the person confesses, or unless four eyewitnesses each saw, at the same time, the man and the woman in the action of illicit sex. Those who accuse someone of illicit sex but fail to produce four eyewitnesses are guilty of false accusation and their punishment is 80 lashes.  Maliki school of sharia considers pregnancy in an unmarried woman as sufficient evidence that she committed the hudud crime of zina. The Hadiths consider homosexuality as zina:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.

[Lot’s people were the people of the infamous cities of Sodom & Gomorra. They were known for their sin of homosexuality.]

Book 38, Number 4448:

If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, he will be stoned to death.

Seeing the media bringing these belief systems together and making them seem compatible, is very confusing and deceptive.  God tells us that He is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), but that it is satan who is the father of lies and a deceiver (John 8:44).  Satan’s ultimate goal is to deceive us into living in sin and keep us separated from the one true God who loves us.  (John 10:7-10).  It does not make sense for someone to say that they are for both of these belief systems when one teaches to kill the other.

God wants us to know the truth and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ!  No matter what sin and rebellion against God we have in our lives, if we confess Jesus as, not only Savior, but Lord and Savior, we can have forgiveness of sins and be cleansed!  (Romans 10:9)  God desires that we know the truth and be set free from the bondage of sin in our lives and to live the life he intended for each one of us!  (John 8:31-32)  God loves us and has a great plan and purpose for us when we allow Him to be the Lord of our lives!  Praise be to God!

Jesus Christ calls all followers of Him, to the great commission.  To go into all the world to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to make disciples.  God has led Christian Adventure Films to go out into all of the world through the internet.  The world of the internet is where a lot of people spend a good deal of their time these days.  A lot of people may never step foot into a church building or even talk to someone about God outside of being behind the screen of a computer.  With this technology, God has blessed us by allowing us to have been able to make contact with people from every state in the United States of America and almost every country in the world!  It has shown to be an amazing missionary opportunity!

The internet has become a worldwide community of people sharing video and text to connect with, entertain and influence others.  Christian Adventure Films has been called to go out into this worldwide community and be active through interacting in comments on posts from people of many cultures and beliefs.  We also go out into this world through sharing our own original content.

We produce family vlogs, scripture posts, with a life application testimony, and articles.  We are also able to share teachings from trusted pastors, worship music and christian entertainment.  We have a scheduled daily post to our social media pages and also post our produced content to communities we’ve been invited to on the Google+ platform.

Through social media posts there are opportunities that God opens up to share the Gospel and have healthy conversations with people who question or doubt Christianity.  This is the going out into all the world to share the good news part.

The discipleship part comes in after making a connection. People are able to come to our pages and find teaching, scripture, worship, testimonies, and prayer.

Our vlog, we feel, is unique for ministry because of it being a living testimony of our family seeking to live lives set apart for God.  As we go out on adventures to explore God’s creation, filming the explorations allows people to see the amazing things that He has created for us.  God tells us that all men are without excuse, in believing in Him, through being able to see the things that He has created.  We also share the things that we personally see and experience God doing in our lives along the way such as answered prayers, miracles and trusts for the Lord to answer in His timing.

Through the vlog, we are able to connect with people in a lot of ways through the different areas of our lives: outdoor activities, hiking, biking, homeschooling, cats, skateboarding, crafting, parenting, and faith.   Along with producing videos, God has also opened opportunities to talk with people while being out on our adventure filming trips.

We have found that the Lord is also using Christian Adventure Films to encourage fellow believers through our variety of postings on social media.  From the beginning, Christian Adventure Films has set about to produce content that is safe and friendly for the whole family to view.

We are excited for the vision the Lord has given us to be able to have a well rounded ministry opportunity to reach those who have not yet come to know the Lord and to encourage those who have already come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!

Is Islam A Peaceful Religion?

There seems to be a difference of opinion, even among christians, of whether or not Islam is a peaceful religion.  For me, I don’t want to just take someones opinion on an issue, but wanted to do a little research on the subject and see what the God of the Bible says.

First, to have a comparison, what does christianity teach on this subject?

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.  One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:   “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.   And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’   All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.  Matthew 22:34-40

Jesus even went further than loving God and our neighbor:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:43-45

Jesus directs us to have a love for everyone and not just those that are nice to us.  There is a word of caution here though.  The word love has been kind of hijacked and given a new definition of a warm fuzzy kind of tolerance love.  True love will also be willing to do things that may be uncomfortable for us if it is in the best interest of someone else.  It is not loving to be silent about something that we see that is bad or destructive for another person.  It is loving to confront and speak truth, in love, if we really care about someone that we see heading for trouble.

From my experience in communicating with a number of muslims through our ministry, there seems to be a definite point where they break from biblical teaching.  It is in the account of Abraham’s sons, Isaac and Ishmael.  Muslims believe that Ishmael is the promised son of Abraham and not Isaac.  This is not what the bible teaches.

Abram’s (whose name was later changed to Abraham by God) wife had been barren, but God promised them a child (Genesis 15:4-6).  Abram and Sarai (whose name was later changed to Sarah by God) had a hard time believing that God would be able to do this since Sarai was barren.  Sarai decided to try to help things along and gave Abram her Egyptian maidservant, Hagar, to have children through (Genesis 16:1-4).  Hagar, Sarai’s maidservant, conceived a son who was named Ishmael. (Genesis 16:15-16).

Ishmael came through Abram and Sarai’s own efforts and not through God’s promised plan.  Abraham asked if God would make Ishmael the promised child that would have His blessing.  God said that Ishmael would be fruitful and have many descendants, but would not be the child He would establish His covenant with. He told Abraham that Sarah would conceive a child and they were to call him Isaac and His covenant would be through him (Genesis 17:18-21).  Isaac is the line in which, ultimately, God’s Son and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ would come through.  God is very clear throughout the Bible, over and over again that God’s covenant is through the line of Abraham, Isaac and Isaac’s son, Jacob.

God said about Ishmael:  “He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”  Genesis  16:11-12.

These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps. Altogether, Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people. His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the border of Egypt, as you go toward Asshur. And they lived in hostility toward all their brothers.  Genesis 25:16-18.

If this is the line that Islam has come through, this is exactly what we have seen throughout history.  The God of the bible told about the religion of Islam almost 2700 years before it actually became a religion.

It was more than 600 years after the time of Jesus that Muhammad claimed to have received the revelation of the religion of Islam from the archangel Gabriel.  In the Bible, Paul warned us about this revelation:

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel– which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!  Galatians 1:6-9.

God tells us that Satan and demons are behind all false religions that lead people away from the one true God of the Bible:

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.  1 Timothy 4:1

What does God say about Satan and his demons?

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy …  John 10:10a.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.  John 8:44.

God has told us that Ishmael’s line will be against everyone and that he will be in hostility towards his brothers. We have seen this happen, in the name of Islam, all around the world and all throughout history.

Muhammad claimed to receive a new gospel which God tells us is a false gospel and that false gospels are taught by demons.  We are also told that Satan is not peaceful, but has come to kill, steal and destroy.  God has warned us of religions such as Islam and that they are not peaceful and will lead to eternal condemnation.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  John 14:6.

As christians, our desire should be to see all people of the world turn to the one true God of the Bible and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  It does not mean that we do not seek to protect the innocent in our country and world from those that would want to harm or kill us.

Sin separates us from a holy God and the only place to spend eternity separated from God is hell.  Sin separates us from God, but Jesus provided a payment for that sin so that we can spend our eternity in heaven.

Jesus was born of a virgin through the power of the Holy Spirit, lived a perfect life, was tortured, mocked and died on a cross at the hands of the people He came to save.  He rose from the dead on the 3rd day, appeared to more than 500 people and then ascended into heaven to be at the right hand of the Father where He is today interceding for us!

Jesus told us to repent and believe.  When we come to the place where we believe this and desire to turn from our ways to God’s ways, we can once again be right with God.  Jesus calls us to follow Him as the Lord of our lives.  This means we look to Him for what is right and wrong and what we should and shouldn’t do.  He created a perfect plan and purpose for each of our lives that is a perfect fit for the way He created each one of us!

Now is the time to decide to turn to Jesus and believe!  None of us know how much more time we have where we can make this decision before it is too late!
