Current events that are going on in our world and country are sounding like they are lining up with end time events that I have read about in the Bible. A big thing is the increase of turning away from God and His ways.
We had also watched a video at this link here: http://survivetheenddays.com/pep_i1/?t= With the current events in our world today, it seemed that the warnings in this video could be a real possibility at some point. One thing that I noticed was that the rapture was not mentioned in this video. This is where true uncompromising believers who stand firm in their belief in Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives, will be taken out of this world before the tribulation.
I have read the Bible through many times in my life as a believer and do know about things that are related to the end times. The one thing that I have never done is a study on the timeline of end time events. That is when it came to mind that my “Life in the Spirit” study Bible, has a timeline and articles on these events so I decided to dig in a little.
First, I went to the timeline and it seemed like you could go down the list just check off all the warning signs that are listed in the “Last Days of Preparation” section:
The next thing I looked at was the Rapture. This is where God promises to take those who are truly following the Lord out of this world before the tribulation.
Here is an article on the Rapture from my study Bible.
We definitely do not want to miss out on the Rapture because if we do, we will still be here during the 7 year Tribulation. This is not a good thing because the tribulation will be an actual hell on earth.
Something that was a surprise, as well as alarming, was the second to the last entry on the tribulation timeline. Apparently, if someone has been given the knowledge of Jesus Christ and continues in rebellion against Him and His ways, they will not be given another chance after the rapture. They will go through the tribulation and then to hell without the ability to reverse their decision that they had made before the rapture. Here is a note on Matthew 25:1 and 25:4 from the study notes:
Then the notes from Luke 12:42-48 & 12:45:
Next, are notes from 2 Thessalonians 2:10, 11 & 12:
Here is the timeline and an article for the great tribulation, which is the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation:
Thankfully, no one has to miss the rapture, which would leave them to go through the tribulation and end up in hell! God doesn’t want anyone to end up in this position and is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us! God made a way for us to be right with Him and be able to go to heaven instead of the tribulation and hell.
God tells us that we have all inherited a sin nature from the 1st humans, Adam and Eve, who rebelled against God and committed the 1st sin. We are all born with this sin nature and it is in us from the beginning. No one needs to teach a child to cry, throw a tantrum or be selfish. It is in us from the beginning.
God is holy and set apart and sin cannot be in His presence, so we are separated from Him because of our sin. God tells us that the wages of sin is death. Spiritual death separates us from Him for all of eternity. This means we need a way to be able to be right with God so we do not have to spend an eternity in hell.
God knew this and that is where His Son Jesus Christ comes in. Jesus came to earth, was born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit, lived a perfect life free from sin, was tortured and died on a cross to pay the penalty for OUR sin so we don’t have to! He was then raised from the dead, overcoming death for us! This gives us all an amazing hope for our eternity.
If we acknowledge our sin and sinful nature, desire to turn to God’s ways rather than the ways that come naturally to us (our sinful nature), believe in and confess with our mouths that Jesus is the Lord of our lives and that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved from the consequences of our sins! This is good news! God is calling us to make a decision in our lives with what He did through His Son Jesus Christ. Will we accept His free gift of salvation or not? Will we choose Him and His ways or will we reject Him and His ways and choose to continue in our own ways that lead to separation from Him?
God loves us and gives us all the ability to choose where we want to make our reservation, heaven or hell? He will not force anyone, but He gives us all the ability to make this choice.
God has now given you the opportunity – what will you choose?
